LtCol Tim Wilson
Tim Wilson is a former British Army officer who served in a variety of command appointments on numerous operational tours during a 32 year military career. Having retired from regular military service in 2003 as a Lieutenant Colonel he moved to the USA in 2005 where he now works as an independent consultant and researcher.
Tim has an unusual breadth of counter-terrorism and international peacekeeping experience gained over many years and he is a recognized expert in advanced, long-range surveillance systems and asymmetric warfare. He is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst with expertise in International Conflicts, Unconventional Warfare, Terrorism and Risk Analysis, Military Technology and Emergency Management.
He served on operational tours in Germany, Northern Ireland, the Balkans, Kosovo and the Middle East. He also undertook and led numerous exercises, including considerable time cross-training and qualifying with multi-national organizations and U.S. military units. Then from 2003 to 2005 he spent nearly 2 years in Iraq and Jordan working on reconstruction for USAID.
Lt Col Wilson has written for a range of publications on diverse topics including surviving a nuclear attack, terrorist tactics and asymmetric warfare and has appeared as a guest on numerous TV and radio shows. His current research is focussed on matters related to foreign affairs and security issues with current emphasis on China, Russia, North Korea and Iran. Since immigrating he has worked on a number of projects including research into the smuggling operations of Iraq during the UN’s Oil-For-Food program, sanctions evasion by Iran and suspicious North Korean shipping activities. As a direct result of his research he has briefed and advised Congressional staffs and officials at State, Treasury and other government agencies.
Tim moved to the USA in 2005 and proudly became an American citizen in 2011. He is a firm advocate of The Constitution and Bill of Rights and believes in American Exceptionalism and the benefits of maintaining and continually improving the greatest military in the world.
